Maia's Approach

Maia is a trauma-informed integrative resilience coach who’s experiential approach is rooted in effective techniques and practices that engage the body and the brain in ways that create noticeable and lasting changes. One of the main foundations of her practice is to help clients cultivate their own inner authority and build trust with themselves. Learning to *resource in order to cultivate body/mind resilience is one of her foundational approaches. This is a predominantly inward experience that is facilitated gently and often slowly. This allows time and space for her clients to notice the subtleties and nuances often missed in talk-centric sessions. The body can find its way naturally and authentically into nervous system regulation (calm, social, neutral etc). This empowers clients to acknowledge what is true for them moment to moment, move at their own pace, acknowledge their own boundaries, and draw their own conclusions. Other approaches and practices that Maia’s employs are narrative medicine, PolyVagal Theory ™, Somatic Experiencing ™, embodied transformation, and IPNB ™. All of these approaches support creating new neural pathways for the brain and nervous system. Clients often report having more resilience, hope, flexibility, contentment and joy as well as a deeper understanding of how to navigate themselves and their environment in ways that support living an authentic and empowered life.

*RESOURCING

is are tools used to bring the nervous system back into regulation. It helps to interrupt challenging body states like anxiety so that one can experience distance from, a break or pause in the symptom. This break can provide more comfort and room to explore these body state(s) while also building a sense of agency, choice, and autonomy. This in an incremental and gentle approach that does not use pushing or force as a way through to answers.
